Harvest Festival Service 2019
On Sunday 6th October we held our Harvest Festival celebration service. The service involved our uniformed organisations. The Knutton Brownies told us the meaning of Harvest one letter at a time and went onto lead us in Prayer.
Following the service we had a Bring and Share Lunch and shared God’s bounty with all.
In the week before the service we hosted pupils form St. Mary’s schools for their annual Harvest Celebration. As part of their service the pupils donated gifts of food. These along with donations from our own service were donated to Newcastle Foodbank, providing enough food for 150 meals.
AS part of the service on the 6th October we collected £300 in small lose change and donations. This will also be donated to Newcastle Foodbank. In recognition of our food donation Foodbank sent us a thank you letter outlining what our donation will be used for and also information about the work of Newcastle Foodbank. The letter is here in PDF.
